Women are subjected to the fluctuating hormonal changes throughout their life, especially during menstruation, childbirth, and menopause. Hormonal fluctuations stimulate mood changes similar to those in depression, therefore making women vulnerable to stress. Girls who typically reach puberty at an earlier age than boys show signs of depression on the onset of puberty due to emerging sexuality, identity issues, conflict with parents, etc. During pregnancy, dramatic changes in hormones due to factors such as unwanted pregnancy, miscarriage, lifestyle changes, infertility, and the lack of social support can stress women to the point of severe depression. In fact, research suggests that women are twice as likely as men to undergo depression, and there are several reasons for this uneven distribution of mental or psychological disorders among genders.

A study reported in WHO, conducted for the NCMH (National Care Of Medical Health), states that at least 15 per cent of the Indian population suffers from some form of the serious mental disorder, with no discernible rural-urban differences. “Anxiety disorders can also lead to impairment, disability and the risk of suicide,” added Louise Lafortune, research associate at the University of Cambridge.

The need of the hour is to sensitize and educate individuals about the signs and symptoms of stress & anxiety while normalizing the idea of seeking support for themselves and their loved ones. India has a long way to go both in terms of understanding the causes and effects of stress & anxiety in women. However, while it is important to treat depression we at Be Young focus on preventive care.

Hence, we suggest the intake of 1 Minicare pill everyday with meals for the girls once they reach puberty. Women in the child bearing age suffer with lot of societal issues leading to depression, stress and anxiety, 1 pill of Minicare a day will prevent women from the effects of anxiety and stress and will also give them the daily required amount of Micro-nutrients. It has all the vital nutrients which are necessary for women from the age of puberty to child-bearing till menopause.
